Description
Retrofit work lives or dies on simplicity, and an AC-side unit keeps the job away from a working PV system. The Gen 2 AC 3.7kW turns an existing solar install into a storage system without disturbing the array or its inverter, which keeps surveys short and callbacks rare. It is the smaller of the two single-phase AC units in the range. The price is trade-only, and one unit costs the same per unit as ten.

What it pairs with
Add the Fox CT clamp, which Fox lists as compatible with the AC range, for current sensing. For the storage itself, look to the Fox high-voltage battery stacks alongside, such as the EQ4800 master and slave modules, plus a Fox WLAN-WW monitoring stick. Battery pairing shifts with model and firmware revision, so check the current Fox ESS pairing list before the quote goes out.
Single-phase only, and above 3.68 kW this needs G99 approval before install. It is supplied as the charger inverter alone, so a compatible battery is a separate line on the order. For anything this page can't settle, ask the trade desk before ordering or consult a competent installer.
