Fox ESS 4G-2 monitoring dongle

Fox ESS's 4G-2 dongle is the web interface for sites where fixed internet is not an option, putting the inverter online over the mobile network. Specify it for new builds awaiting a connection, outbuildings, barns and field-mounted arrays.

Description

Relying on a householder's WiFi is the weak point of most monitoring setups; passwords change, routers get replaced, and the callback lands on your desk. A mobile-network dongle takes the customer's network out of the equation entirely, and is worth fitting wherever signal allows. For a trade buyer the sums are simple: one part number covers the awkward sites that a WiFi stick cannot, and it ships at the same ex-VAT price whether you order a single unit or a boxful.

What it pairs with

Fit it to Fox ESS inverters across the range: the H1 Gen 2 single-phase hybrids, the F series (G3) PV inverters, or the three-phase T series units also listed here. Which dongle suits which inverter generation depends on the model and firmware revision, so check the current Fox ESS pairing list before ordering for a specific unit.

It is a communications accessory only and adds nothing to generation or storage. It also depends on mobile network coverage at the inverter's location, so check signal before you specify it. For anything this page can't settle, ask the trade desk before ordering or consult a competent installer.

FAQ

Fox ESS FE-4G-2-DONGLE buying questions

The ex-VAT trade price is displayed on this page and VAT at 20% is added on the invoice. The price does not move with volume: one dongle for a single job costs the same per unit as a trade-counter box order, and there are no minimum order quantities.
It travels by parcel courier, as there are no dangerous goods restrictions on a monitoring dongle. Delivery in 3–5 working days (estimate). The dispatch clock starts at cleared payment. Being a standard parcel, it requires none of the kerbside pallet arrangements that heavier goods need.
Out of stock at the last catalogue update, and the count on this page comes from the live stock feed rather than a manual list. In stock means in stock; if the number reads zero, the trade desk can tell you the restock position for this part number.
UK trade buyers with a verified account: limited companies verify with a Companies House number, sole traders with a UTR, MCS or scheme number. No trade minimums — one unit at trade price, no annual-spend tiers.
